Washington Township is exploring the advantages and disadvantages of implementing a single waste hauler. Township officials have hired an independent, third-party contractor (ETC Institute) to conduct a statistically valid survey in the community. A statistically valid survey means that the reliability of the survey results is increased because they are based on a combination of proper sampling methods, adequate sample sizes and unbiased data collection. In addition to the statistically valid survey, an open survey with the same questions is available for residents to take online. While the results of the open survey will be kept separate from the results of the statistically valid survey, it will allow an opportunity for all residents to respond to the survey and voice their opinions about the potential of a single waste hauler. All responses will be taken into consideration by Township officials when evaluating options.
